Literature Text

After the big fight Timber put himself through, the small Gray Wolf arrived at his apartment with a sigh. After breaking up with Sarah, he had hoped to not come back for awhile, and despite it being close to midnight he imagined he would have been out a few more hours. Luckily, his mentor Spitz eventually got through to the small wolf as he lumbered towards his bathroom. He passed through the living room and by his phone, only to stop when he realized that his phone had messages on the voice mail.

"....you don't have to answer it," Timber muttered to himself. A few seconds later, he picked up the phone and headed for the bathroom so he could check his voicemail from there. Hopping into the warm bath, he hit play all and laid back. Surprisingly, each message was short, but managed to be as painful as he feared;

“This is Kit, pick up the phone…” “Rob, please pick up. We can talk about...erm, what happened." "I've got nothing better to do today Rob, you'll have to answer eventually." "Rob...you know we're gonna both worry too much for us to be able to do anything else." "I have to be annoying you by this point..."

"Damn," Timber sighed after a solid hour of worrying about getting a call and then getting a call, “What do I do?” he whimpered, tossing the phone to the floor before dunking his head in the bath water. A few bubbles came up before Timber heard the phone ring. Instantly, his head came up. He didn’t even have a second to try and think of a worse case scenario since Kit’s name and number was right on the Caller ID. It was also 6 am now going by the clock on the phone. Shocked at the fact that he had passed out in the tub, Timber found the phone right in his hand, and almost on reflex he clicked ‘answer’.

“Timber? Please tell me it’s you,” she answered. Timber was silent, resisting to respond, though he decided against it at the last moment. Resigned, he answered.

“Yeah...yeah it’s me. Sorry I didn’t answer earlier.”

“Right,” Kit grunted. “I know it’s late, but I think we should talk about this...in person…” the fox sighed.

“Umm...maybe tomorrow. Some alone time might do me some good,” he started to say when Kit cut him off.

“I know you. You’re not gonna get any sleep over this.”

“...yeah, you’re probably right. Go ahead and bike over,” Timber grunted. Kit thanked Timber before hanging up, though the small wolf was too busy dunking his head back in the water to catch the bit of kindness.

About ten minutes later, there was a knock on Timber's apartment room door. Unfortunately, he had stayed in the bath during that time. His ears eventually picked up the noise and he ran right for the front door to answer in nothing but a hastily worn towel.

"Kit! You're early. I think," Timber huffed. A chuckle from his friend clued him in on his current attire. He clutched the towel tightly as he backed up into the living room.

"It's good to see you, believe it or not. Uh, how hard did that Stag beat you down?" Kit switched gears on seeing a number of bruises across the chest of her wolf friend. Timber looked down with a frown.

"Wasn’t him, though he was good...long story. It’s not the one you came for."  Kit shook her head, fearing the worst. Though, she agreed with his statement and asked if she could take a seat. Timber motioned towards the couch, but he stood, shoulders slumped as he kept his maw shut.

“I’ll get that it out of you eventually, but let’s focus on yesterday then,” Kit sighed before giving the smaller wolf a big hug. Timber blushed, looking away in embarrassment. .

“Tension was high, and I can’t take it back. What I said, why I said it.”

“Do you wish you could?” Kit asked. Timber took a long time to answer, couldn’t get a read on what answer she wanted. He was silent for the longest time. It’s not that he didn’t have an answer, he just didn’t want to share it.

"I don't wanna think about it," Timber muttered. "You're my best friend. I don't want to lose that. I already lost Sarah."

"Maybe. Though, before anything else happens, I have to know your answer," Kit replied, putting a hand on Timber's shoulder. The wolf noted she was actively trying to keep contact light now. He patted her paw, and smiled.

"Here's my answer, and feel free to hit me after-"

"OK, that's just your answer to everything..."

"Heh, you know what I mean. My answer is that you're extremely hot Kit," Timber stated. Kit resisted the urge to slap him like he wanted, expecting a continuation of the answer, which Timber did give. "Jesus, you're my best friend, and I just said that. I'm not sure what I felt. I was an idiot though…I’m going to miss Sarah, and I’m so dumb for not trying to listen to her,” he sighed and turned away from her. To his surprise, Kit grabbed his attention with a hug from behind. Timber whimpered as she clutched his bruises this time. Despite audible groans of pain, she didn’t loosen up.

“This idea I have is crazy, but let's go grab Sarah. OK?" she asked, hugging a bit tighter. “This...this is who you are, and at some point she both understood and was fine with that.If she’s past willing to see you like this then fair enough, but I think this can be talked through,” she claimed.

"I uh...that doesn't sound like a good idea at all," Timber blushed, struggling to slip out of her grip. Given the injuries that the big gorilla inflicted on him, he wasn’t able to.

“Maybe not,” Kit admitted with a sigh. “Got any better ideas, though?” was the last question she asked before letting go and reaching for the door, causing the wolf to sigh.

“Well…” he trailed off, desperately trying to come up with an answer.
Sorting Things Out-

Timber Torn hasn't even had the day end for him between chapter'2-4, that's how bad a time he's been going through. Luckily he has stubborn best friend who won't give up on him. Not easily anyways.

Finally I'm back to this..and it's a non action scene. I don't know my audience enough to question if that's an issue or not, but I do like Timber and Kit. Whether or not it's as a couple is to be shown soon. Poor Timber

Thank you for any and all support, ladies and gentlemen.  We are now back onto our regularly scheduled storylines as my New Storyline Choice contest is underway(oh, go support that if you can). Mozel tov.

I like the switching back and forth between fighting and non-fighting. It feels more real that way! If it was non-stop fighting, then people may get bored reading it and want more "normal" situations.

Poor Timber. Ha ha. It's fun wondering if the two will ever get together. xD Maybe it will be like X-files and leave you continually wondering or be one that Kit makes it her life mission to get the guy with his ex, just to hide her feelings. Or neither. Either way - fun! xD

Another awesome chapter! xD Only little thing I noticed is Stacy's name change. Either that or Stacy and Sarah are two different people and my eyes are starting to cross (which wouldn't surprise me. I've been doing a lot of reading today. xD )

I really need to read all of your New Storylines. Sorry I'm behind on those. x_x I'll try to start getting caught up on those!
